Privacy

The site asks for no account and sets no cookie. Here is everything that still moves, and through whom.

Who is responsible

Geneva Open Hockey is an independent project run by Sylvain Tremblet. For any question about this data, the contact page is the way to reach the person responsible.

The site asks for no account, no login cookie and shows no advertising. Checking a schedule or subscribing to a calendar creates no profile. No data is resold.

Audience measurement

Page views are counted in aggregate by Umami Cloud, a US service, with no cookie and no persistent identifier. The IP address of a visit is used to work out the country, then not kept. Umami’s servers are in the United States and the European Union, and the European region is the one chosen for this site.

Maps

Rink pages show an OpenStreetMap map. To load it, your browser requests the map tiles from the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s servers, which therefore receive your IP address and the address of the site the request comes from. Those servers are in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and the Foundation publishes no retention period for these logs.

The “directions” link opens Google Maps. Nothing is loaded from Google until you click it.

Hosting and bot protection

The site is hosted by Cloudflare (United States, with servers worldwide), which sees visits pass through: IP address, browser type. Both forms on the site are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-bot check with no box to tick. It analyses the connection (IP address, the browser’s technical fingerprint) to tell a person from a bot, and Cloudflare also uses it to improve its own bot detection.

Error reports

A report sends what you write in the form (the message, the type of problem, the rink chosen and the language), with no name or address. It becomes an entry in a private GitHub repository (GitHub, United States) that only the person running the site reads, for as long as it takes to fix the schedule concerned.

The free-text field holds whatever you put in it: avoid writing personal data there.

Messages

The contact form sends your message and, if you give it, your email address. They are sent by Infomaniak’s mail server (Switzerland) to the mailbox of the person running the site, and are used only to reply. No automatic reply is sent, and a message is kept for as long as it takes to deal with the request.

Your rights

You can ask for access to what concerns you, or for its correction or deletion. Since nothing is tied to a person (no account, no profile), there is usually nothing to find. If a message contains information that identifies you, write via the contact page and it will be removed.
